Linking Safety Net Schemes and Poverty Alleviation in Nigeria

This article discusses shared experiences of receiving safety net benefits by research participants and whether such help poverty alleviation. Towards that end, it suggests improving schemes. By following a qualitative approach purposive snowball sampling methods, 24 beneficiaries were interviewed in the six geopolitical zones Nigeria. With aid Nvivo 12pro, content thematic technique used to analyse data. Key themes shaped participants’ were: Institutional framework, strategic plan documentation, continuous improvement follow-up, community targeting reliance on state support. It argues adoption schemes towards alleviation needs have an institutional framework local engagement. Overall, reenforces government’s role human capacity development unravelling relevance policy programmes as guiding path ameliorating level not only Nigeria but also similar countries Africa.
